Milhauser gets invite to Shrine Game

Washington State University senior center Nick Mihlhauser will join teammates – running back Jerome Harrison and linebacker Will Derting – and participate in the 81st annual East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 21 in San Antonio’s Alamodome.

Mihlhauser and the WSU line helped produce 489.2 yards per game, third in the Pacific-10 Conference and eighth nationally.

Mihlhauser started every game this season and was a second-team All-Pac 10 pick.

Shock to host tryouts

The Spokane Shock will hold an open tryout on Jan. 30th at the Spokane Indoor Soccer Center.

Cost is $50 for those who pre-register or $60 on the day of the tryout. Registration forms are available at www.spokaneshock.com. Players are advised to wear shorts, t-shirts and shoes conducive to artificial turf. The Shock, an arenafootball2 team that will debut in March, will provide additional equipment.

The soccer center is located at 7320 E. Nora. Tryouts begin at 8 a.m.
