Trio burst into home, take purse

Compiled from staff reports The Spokesman-Review

A masked man used a shotgun Sunday night to intimidate an apartment resident while one of his two female accomplices stole a purse.

No one was hurt during the robbery in the 1400 block of North Lincoln Street, Spokane police spokesman Cpl. Tom Lee said. The victims told police the robbers left immediately after taking the purse.

The three people burst into the apartment when a resident answered a knock at the door about 7 p.m. Sunday, Lee said.

Crews will also be doing tree work near Hatch Road and Westchester Drive.

Flaggers will be on hand to direct traffic.

Police report streak of vehicle vandalism

Vandals are breaking car windows, tearing up interiors and slashing tires in Spokane.

Spokane police have received 48 reports from vandalism victims since Dec. 29, spokesman Cpl. Tom Lee said. Most of the vandalism has happened on Spokane’s North Side.

Several vehicles were damaged in neighborhoods south of Empire Avenue between Cedar and Washington streets, including 11 tire slashings, Lee said. Twelve cars were heavily damaged at a car lot in east Spokane that was hit by vandals twice.

Vehicle owners should use garages when possible or park in well-lighted areas, Lee said. Also, valuables should never be left in vehicles.
