Judge OKs holding man in kidnap, assault case

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

A Spokane County District Court judge ruled Wednesday there were grounds to hold a 24-year-old man on suspicion of first-degree kidnapping and second-degree domestic assault in a violent attack on a woman.

According to court documents, Donald Lucas Prichard dragged the woman by her hair into the bedroom of her North Side apartment Monday night. Then he allegedly barricaded the door and beat her head, face, neck and ribs with his fists, threatened her with a knife, handcuffed her hands behind her back and raped her twice.

While she was handcuffed, Prichard allegedly held the woman’s head under water in a bathtub to force her to perform a sex act.
