Theater students to offer improv event

Northwest Christian High School theater students will host “An Evening of Improv” Monday in the school chapel, 5104 E. Bernhill Road, Colbert.

The performance will begin at 7 p.m.

Admission is $2. Money raised from ticket sales will benefit the Northwest Christian Theatre Department.

Relay For Life kickoff rally

T he American Cancer Society invites the public to attend the Spokane Valley Relay For Life kickoff rally Wednesday at the Quality Inn at Mission Avenue and Argonne Road from 6 to 8 p.m.

The rally is intended to educate people on how they can become involved in next year’s Relay For Life on June 1 and 2. Potential team captains, members, volunteers, sponsors and cancer survivors are encouraged to attend.

Food and door prizes will be available.

Benefit for Wishing Star

Join the Spokane Home Builders Association on Friday for the third annual “Giving from the Heart: an Evening of Sharing,” a benefit for the Wishing Star Foundation.

The event at the Davenport Hotel begin at 6 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction. Dinner will be at 7, with a live auction to follow.

Items available in the live and silent auctions include two tickets to the opening night of “Annie” on Feb. 15, a Lane recliner and a John Stockton-autographed basketball.

Tickets are $65 per person. All proceeds will benefit the Wishing Star Foundation.

Reservations are requested by Wednesday.

St. John Vianney School Auction

St. John Vianney Roman Catholic School will hold its 20th annual school auction Saturday.

Held in the Pend Oreille Pavilion Center at Northern Quest Casino, 100 N. Hayford Road, a silent auction will begin at 4 p.m., with dinner at 5:45 and a live auction at 7.

Golf packages, Gonzaga basketball tickets and a Hill’s Resort weekend getaway are just a few of the items available in the live and silent auctions.

Tickets are $35 per person or $30 for senior citizens. Proceeds will benefit St. John Vianney Catholic School.

Mead High School Craft Fair

Mead High School Bandwagon will hold its annual holiday craft fair Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and next Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the school gym and field house, 302 W. Hastings Road.

Admission is $1. All funds raised will support the Mead High School band, color guard, and orchestra programs.
