Distribution of Coats 4 Kids starts Monday

Coats 4 Kids has arrived just in time for the cold weather.

Now that the coats have been collected, it’s time for distribution, which begins Monday and will continue through Nov. 3.

In Spokane, coats can be picked up at East Central Community Center, 500 S. Stone St., every day, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Spokane Valley Community Center, 10814 E. Broadway Ave., every day, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; North East Community Center, 4001 N. Cook St., Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and West Central Community Center, 1603 N. Belt St., Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Coeur d’Alene, coats can be picked up, Monday through Friday, at Harding Family Center, 411 N. 15th St., from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Harding Family Center also will be open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. for coat distribution.

Post Falls Food Bank, 1420 E. Third, Post Falls, also will be distributing coats for kids. Call (208) 773-0139 for dates and times.

Event proceeds benefit Faye’s House

On Wednesday you can visit Spokane Civic Theatre, 1020 N. Howard St., and enjoy “Singin’ in the Rain,” and support the growth of Faye’s House.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. and also includes a silent auction. Spa packages and a wheelbarrow containing yard and garden supplies donated by Ziggy’s, are just some of the items available in the silent auction.

Tickets are $25 and proceeds will support the opening and growth of Faye’s House, a temporary home for women from out-of-town undergoing breast cancer treatment, sponsored by Because There Is Hope. Because There Is Hope is a nonprofit organization supporting women in Spokane with breast cancer.

Murder on the Menu

Drive out to Northern Quest Casino, 100 N. Hayford Road, Friday evening for Cancer Patient Care’s Fifth Annual “Murder on the Menu.”

The musical murder mystery dinner theater begins at 6 p.m., along with a silent auction. There also will be a raffle and prizes for solving the mystery.

Items available in the silent auction include a San Juan Island getaway, gift baskets and spa packages.

Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per couple. All proceeds benefit Cancer Patient Care.

March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction

On Friday enjoy some of Spokane’s finest cuisine at the March of Dimes first annual Signature Chefs Auction.

Along with signature dishes provided by local chefs, live and silent auction arealso on the menu. Packages available for auction include an evening for 10 in the Bluefish Private Room, provided by owner and lead chef for the event, Ian Wingate; a winter retreat to Sandpoint, and a week-long vacation in Orlando, Fla., with airfare included.

Tickets are $100 per person and proceeds will benefit the March of Dimes Prematurity Campaign.

Blues for Halloween

Beginning at 9 p.m. on Saturday at Annie Fannie’s, 3827 E. Boone Ave., Halloween starts a little early with “Brew Some Blues for Halloween.”

Listen to the live music of Too Slim and the Taildraggers at this benefit costume party and win cash prizes for the best one.

A $10 donation is requested at the door to benefit The Recycling Foundation.

The Recycling Foundation supports recycling education in Washington.
