Police arrest man putting on women’s clothing

The Spokesman-Review

A Spokane Valley man is accused of trying to steal $713.14 in women’s clothing from Liquidation World on East Sprague on Friday morning.

An officer heard a siren coming from behind the store about 1:30 a.m. and spotted a man crouched next to a duffel bag, Spokane Valley Police spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan said in a news release.

Sean P. Stith, 20, was arrested on suspicion of felony second degree burglary after police said he took the clothing from a fenced area outside the store.

The arresting officer said he recognized the suspect from a similar incident four months ago. Reagan said in both cases Stith was in the process of putting on women’s clothing, in this case a pair of women’s jeans, a pink blouse and a bra.

According to the release, Stith told police the clothing “wanted to be stolen,” and he climbed a fence topped with barbed wire to get it.

Man booked on charge of drug possession

Police questioned a man pushing his bicycle up Fourth Avenue at 1 a.m. Tuesday and discovered he had four arrest warrants, and was carrying a bag of methamphetamine, according to a news release from Spokane Valley Police spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan.

An officer patrolling near Fourth and Koren stopped Aaron Lee Daves of 4422 E. Fifth Ave, as he pushed his bike along the street, which does not have sidewalks. The officer found that Daves had four outstanding warrants related to driving without a license, Reagan said.

He was arrested, and meth was found in his pocket, according to the release.

Daves was booked on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, a felony. He also was ticketed for being a pedestrian in roadway.

Peeping man causes complaints

Police arrested a man on drug charges after complaints of someone looking in windows at an apartment complex in west Spokane Valley Saturday.

About 10 p.m. police checked out a second complaint at 100 S. Havana St. from someone claiming a man had been looking in his window. An officer on a bicycle found a man matching the suspect’s description near Third Avenue and Custer Road.

According to a news release from Spokane Valley Police spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan, Gary L. Parr, 38, whom police identified as a transient, displayed signs of methamphetamine use and tried to throw away a small bag of the drug, a syringe and a pipe.

Parr was booked into county jail on a drug possession charge.
