Gala will benefit SAFeT Response Center

The 23rd annual Chocolate Champagne Gala will be at the Red Lion Hotel at the Park on Friday.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature champagne, chocolates from local shops, coffee samplings, hors d’oeuvres and a silent auction.

Celebrity emcees will include KHQ anchors Shelly Monahan and Dave Cotton. Dancing to 6-Foot Swing will be from 8 to 11 p.m.

Tickets are $50 and must be purchased in advance. Proceeds will benefit the SAFeT Response Center. The Center is Spokane’s certified sexual assault program and crime victim service center providing therapy, medical and legal advocacy, and education for victims of violent crime and their families.

HBPA scholarship benefit

Join the Spokane Hispanic Business Professional Association on Friday at the Best Western Peppertree Liberty Lake Inn, 1816 N. Pepper Lane, for Viva Vino.

Beginning at 7 p.m., the evening includes a variety of wines, fresh fruit dipped in a chocolate fountain, and a silent auction.

Tickets are $35 in advance; $45 at the door.

Proceeds will benefit the HBPA Hispanic scholarship fund.

Appraisals at Discovery Shop

On Saturday, bring your collectibles to the American Cancer Society Discovery Shop, 805 W. Garland Ave., and get up to three items appraised for $10.

Local experts from Boulevard Appraisal, Antiques Northwest and Dave’s Collectable Jewelry will be on hand from 1 to 5 p.m.

All proceeds from profits at the Discovery Shop benefit the American Cancer Society, supporting patient services, education and research.

Shriners Hospital musical

Enjoy “A Carousel Musicale” and help support Shriners hospitals on Saturday.

The show begins at noon with a luncheon in the auditorium of the Spokane Masonic Temple, 1108 W. Riverside Ave.

Tickets for the luncheon and performance are $30. Tickets for the performance only are $15.

Proceeds will benefit children at Shriners hospitals.
