Site helps travelers make connections

The Spokesman-Review

Heading off to some continent you’ve never seen before? Or, does your company enjoy sending you on frequent trips, just to see how long you can take it?

We suggest a visit to Joesentme.com. It’s a wide-ranging travel site that has an active interest in dissecting the joys and pains of airline travel.

It has plenty of useful links. One group of links deals entirely with converters – currency, shoe sizes, electrical systems, language and weights and measures.

Right below can be found another set of links to all the major airline frequent travel plans.

Subway maps, airport links, TSA security rules – all there, easy to find.

It even has a timely reference guide to airport security check-in times. That link reports that Spokane’s airport has a typical check-through wait ranging from 4 to 17 minutes, depending on time of day and which concourse one uses.

The site’s godfather is Joe Brancatelli, an experienced traveler who decided post-9/11 to give the airlines some honest criticism. Check out the user forums for interesting advice or travel tips.

YouTVpc.com

The Web has shifted to fourth gear as it moves toward video all the time. YouTVpc.com is one of the most arresting and interesting of the “guerrilla video” sites.

Two guys in New Mexico have developed the site and its archive of several thousand hours of video from popular TV shows.

If, for example, you haven’t seen the first two seasons of “Battlestar Galactica,” it’s easily done here.
