ASU’s Johnson scores 27 in her final home game

Senior Aubree Johnson (Post Falls) scored a career-high 27 points in her final home game to lead No. 10 Arizona State to a 78-63 victory Saturday over Oregon State in Tempe, Ariz.

Johnson hit 12 of 15 shots from the floor, the most points and field goals by an ASU player this season.

Kirsten Thompson had 17 points and eight rebounds and Emily Westerberg (Central Valley) added 10 points for Arizona State (23-3, 13-2 Pac-10).

Casey Nash, the Pac-10’s leading scorer with 20.4 points per game, led Oregon State (8-15, 3-11) with 24 points.

(15) Baylor 81, Iowa State 64: At Waco, Texas, Angela Tisdale scored 21 points, tying her season high, and Bernice Mosby added 17 points and 15 rebounds to lead the Lady Bears (21-4, 8-3 Big 12) to a win over the Cyclones (17-7, 5-6).

Trailing 49-26 at the break, the Cyclones opened the second half with a 13-4 run to pull to 53-39 with just less than 16 minutes left.

Baylor regrouped, however, and Iowa State never seriously challenged.

(16) Texas A&M 78, (12) Oklahoma 68: At College Station, Texas, Takia Starks and A’Quonesia Franklin scored 25 points apiece to lead the Aggies (19-4, 9-2 Big 12) past the Sooners (18-4, 8-3).

The Aggies shot 5 of 10 from beyond the 3-point arc in the first half and led 37-29.

The Sooners turned the ball over 24 times to A&M’s 15.

(17) Louisville 98, Syracuse 50: At Louisville, Ky., Chauntise Wright had career highs of 25 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Cardinals (22-3, 8-3 Big East) to a victory over the Orange (8-16, 2-9).

The Cardinals struggled early, missing five of their first six shots. But they recovered quickly and used a 17-0 run midway through the first half to take a 31-17 lead.

(18) Bowling Green 85, Northern Illinois 76: At Dekalb, Ill., Ali Mann scored 23 points and added 16 rebounds to lead the Falcons (22-2, 11-0 Mid-American Conference) to a victory over the Huskies (15-8, 6-5).

Mann finished 9 of 14 from the field.

(21) Nebraska 54, Colorado 44: At Boulder, Colo., Kiera Hardy scored 16 points for the Cornhuskers (21-4, 9-2 Big 12), who defeated Colorado (10-13, 4-7) and held the Buffalo players to single-digit scoring.

Chelsea Aubry had 11 points and Kelsey Griffin had eight points and 11 rebounds for the Cornhuskers. Jackie McFarland, who averaged 18.5 points and 11 rebounds, led Colorado with nine points and 13 rebounds.

(23) Marquette 67, Georgetown 52: At Washington, Christina Quaye scored 27 points and the Golden Eagles (20-4, 8-3 Big East) defeated the Hoyas (12-13, 2-10) to snap a two-game losing skid.

Quaye finished 8 for 12 from the field and made all 10 of her free-throw attempts.

The Hoyas led 31-17 at the half.

(24) Wisconsin-Green Bay 72, Wisconsin-Milwaukee 63: At Milwaukee, Natalie Berglin scored 15 points and Nicole Soulis had 13 to lead the Phoenix (19-3, 10-0 Horizon League) over the Panthers (11-12, 7-3).

Tracie Edwards kept the Panthers in the game with 31 points and 16 rebounds.
