Disc golf Ice Bowl to aid food bank

Today at 11 a.m. Ice Bowl 2007 will be held at Downriver Disc Golf Course.

Cost for the amateur division is $12 plus 10 cans of food, and the entry fee for the pro division is $22 plus 10 cans of food. The charity disc golf tournament will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.

March for Meals

On Saturday, Meals on Wheels and Mid-City Concerns will hold a March for Meals walk at NorthTown Mall.

Registration is from 7 to 8 a.m., and the walk is from 8 to 10 a.m. T-shirts will be awarded for donations of $25 or more or are $10 on the day of the walk. Nonperishable food items also may be donated on the day of the walk and will benefit Second Harvest Food Bank.

Donations collected during the March for Meals will be used as part of the matching Feinstein Grant.

Crosswalk of Spokane Benefit

The second annual dinner to benefit Crosswalk of Spokane will be Saturday.

The event, sponsored by the Greater Spokane Dietetic Association, will feature a meal prepared by 12 of Spokane’s top chefs.

Local wineries will provide wine tasting.

The benefit will be at CenterPlace Mirabeau Point Park, 2426 N. Discovery Place, Spokane Valley, and will begin at 6 p.m.

Tickets are $75, and proceeds will benefit Crosswalk of Spokane, providing meals and shelter to homeless teenagers in the Spokane area.
