In brief: Property added to no-shooting zone
People who ignore “no trespassing” and “no hunting” signs on a Newman Lake couple’s acreage now also will be violating county no-shooting ordinance if they discharge a weapon.
County commissioners last week granted Byron and Lynn Woehrle’s request to have their 340 acres added to the no-shooting zones that protect suburban and semirural areas from gunfire.
David Bray, a member of the Spokane County No Shooting Advisory Committee, reported to commissioners that he and committee member Rod Staudinger determined that gunfire on the property at 11310 N. McCoy Road “posed a definite and serious risk” to the Woehrles and their neighbors.
