Community update: Race, family walk will aid March of Dimes

The fourth annual Spokane Indians 8K Pennant Race and Family Walk, sponsored by the Spokane Indians, Runners Soul, KXLY-TV and OutThere Monthly, will be Saturday at 8 a.m. on the Centennial Trail in downtown Spokane.

Participants can register and pick up their packets from noon to 5 p.m. on Friday and on the morning of the race from 7 to 7:30 a.m. at Runners Soul, 221 N. Wall St., Suite 127.

Registration is $30 and includes a Brooks technical race shirt and a ticket to the Spokane Indians game that night.

Proceeds from the race will go to the March of Dimes to benefit babies of premature birth in Spokane.

Classmates in Comedy

On Saturday, The Blue Door Theatre, 815 W. Garland Ave., will hold a Classmates in Comedy Improv Showcase to raise money for a new blue door for the theater.

The show begins at 8 p.m. and will include the Blue Door’s newest talent.

Habitat for Humanity golf benefit

The eighth annual Kootenai Electric Cooperative Golf Classic will be Friday.

The event will be at the Twin Lakes Village Golf Course and will benefit Habitat for Humanity.

The cost for a team of four, plus a hole sponsorship, is $500 and includes green fees, golf cart, lunch, dinner and a shirt. Individual golfers may play for $95.
