Community update: Cliff House event to aid public radio

On Friday, Spokane Public Radio is hosting An Evening Under the Stars.

The event will begin at 6 p.m. at Arbor Crest Cliff House and will include a silent auction, dancing to Jazz All-Stars, and a Tuscany-inspired buffet.

Tickets are $32 for SPR members and $37 for the general public. Proceeds will benefit Spokane Public Radio.

Scramble golf benefit

St. Pius Knights of Columbus Council 11623 is holding its first scramble golf tournament on Saturday.

The tournament will be at the Prairie Falls Golf Club, 3200 N. Spokane St., in Post Falls. It will begin with a shotgun start at 10 a.m. (for fewer than 100 players) or 1 p.m. (with 100 or more players).

Cost is $65 and includes golf, a golf cart and a barbecue dinner. All proceeds will benefit Habitat for Humanity to build a house for the family of a member of the Knights of Columbus.

Bicycle donations

A local bicycling nonprofit group is requesting donations of children’s bicycles for kids in the community. Pedals2People will fix the bicycles and donate them to children in need who are 3 to 15 years old.

Pedals2People’s mission is to increase bicycle ridership and ownership in the Inland Northwest through education, sustainable practices and community action, with an emphasis on youths and low-income people.
