Bicyclist hits car, breaks nose, clavicle

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

A female bicyclist was in serious condition Tuesday night after she hit a car at the intersection of 13th Avenue and South Pittsburg Street, a police spokeswoman said.

Just after 5 p.m., the bicyclist and the car arrived at the intersection at the same time, and she pedaled forward, Officer Tracie Meidl said.

“But she was the one at fault, so she’s being cited for failure to yield the right-of-way,” Meidl said.

The woman, whose name was not available, was taken to Deaconess Medical Center. She suffered a broken clavicle and nose, Meidl said. The driver of the car, whose name also was unavailable, was uninjured.
