Green River victims’ names sought

SEATTLE – The King County Sheriff’s Office has released facial reconstruction photos of three victims of the Green River serial killer, saying that after more than 20 years, detectives have been unable to determine who they were. The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children performed the facial reconstructions in clay.

In 2003, Gary Ridgway pleaded guilty to 48 of the Green River killings, including the three at issue here. He was unable to provide any information that could help detectives identify them, but the Sheriff’s Office said he did imply the three were killed in the spring or summer of 1983. Detectives believe the women may have been from out of state. They are listed as:

“Victim No. 10: A white girl, possibly as young as 12, found March 21, 1984, in the Burien area off Des Moines Memorial Drive.

“Victim No. 16: A black or possibly mixed-race woman, about 18 to 24 years old, found Dec. 30, 1985, near Mountain View Cemetery in Auburn.

“Victim No. 17: A white girl, about 14 to 18 years old, found Jan. 2, 1986, also near Mountain View Cemetery.
