People: Well, we know what’s killing her

From Wire Reports The Spokesman-Review

Less than two weeks after leaving rehab, Lindsay Lohan was arrested Tuesday on drunk driving and cocaine possession charges.

Authorities received a 911 call from a woman – later revealed to be the mother of Lohan’s personal assistant, who had just quit – who said she was being chased by someone in an SUV.

When police arrived they found the woman and Lohan in “heated debate.”

Lohan had a blood alcohol level between 0.12 and 0.13 percent, police said. A search turned up cocaine in one of her pants pockets.

She was released on $25,000 bail.

Last week, the 21-year-old actress turned herself in to face DUI charges in connection with a Memorial Day weekend hit-and-run accident that resulted in her entering rehab.

She had been wearing an alcohol-monitoring bracelet on her ankle since leaving the treatment program July 13 and was being tested daily, said her attorney, Blair Berk.

“Addiction is a terrible and vicious disease,” Berk said, adding that Lohan had relapsed and was again receiving medical care.

Her new movie, “I Know Who Killed Me,” opens in theaters Friday.

And speaking of casualties …

Britney Spears suffered “nothing less than a meltdown” during an interview with OK! magazine, according to TMZ.com.

Editor-in-Chief Sarah Ivens said the magazine had “spent a heartbreaking day with Britney Spears and witnessed first-hand an emotional cry for help that will leave you shocked and sad.”

Spears spent a month in rehab earlier this year after a lost weekend in L.A. during which she shaved her head.

The OK! story hits newsstands Friday.

No jive, Clive

Former “American Idol” Kelly Clarkson is trying to patch up her reported feud with Clive Davis, the head of her record label, RCA.

“I want to set the record straight on this by saying that I want my band, my advisers, those close to me and my record label to be one big, tightly knit family,” she says on her Web site.

“I really regret how this has turned out, and I apologize to those whom I have done disservice.”

Clarkson’s latest album, “My December,” is No. 5 on the Billboard chart but has yet to produce a hit single.

What about Bernardo?

Amanda Detmer, star of ABC’s “What About Brian,” is seeking a divorce from her husband of less than three years, Bernardo Targett.

Detmer’s film roles include “You, Me and Dupree,” “Saving Silverman” and “Lucky 13.”

Drew’s in the game

Finally, in case you hadn’t heard, Drew Carey has been named to replace the retired Bob Barker as host of “The Price is Right.”

Says Carey: “It’s only a game show, but it’s the longest-running game show in American television and I plan to keep it that way.”

He’ll also host a new CBS game show, “The Power of 10,” debuting next month.
