Handle on business: Hayden Creek Plaza new arrival – Baby Cottage

Nils Rosdahl Correspondent

Spaces in the attractive Northwest-style Hayden Creek Plaza continue to fill.

Baby Cottage will open next Saturday in 1,275 square feet of space next to the Storybook Bridal store.

Expanding from its Spokane Valley Mall location, Baby Cottage carries specialty products, gifts, footwear and clothing for preemies through 4-year-olds. It also offers children’s wedding tuxedos and dresses.

Owner Anna Smith opened the first store after she had noticed a need for clothing for premature babies when she was a neonatal intensive-care nurse in Spokane.

A Sandpoint native, she was educated in San Diego and returned to North Idaho with her family in 2004.

With three employees, the new Baby Cottage store will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. An opening-day sale will start at 10 a.m.
