Austrians celebrated Arnold Schwarzenegger‘s 60th birthday Monday with strudels, schnitzels and a gift – the street number from the house where he was born.

During “A Day for Arnold” in the southern village of Thal Bei Graz, the California governor’s birthplace, a brass band played, a priest celebrated a special birthday Mass and Mayor Peter Urdl led a ceremony to wish Schwarzenegger well.

Urdl said he sent a birthday present: Thal 145, the enameled number of the house where Schwarzenegger was born July 30, 1947.

“This belongs to him. No one here will ever be assigned that number again,” Urdl said.

Schwarzenegger emigrated to the U.S. in 1968 and became a naturalized citizen in 1984.

He lost some luster in his homeland in 2005 after he refused to block the execution of a convicted gang founder. Most Austrians are opposed to capital punishment.

That triggered a wave of protests that led to the renaming of Arnold Schwarzenegger Stadium, a soccer arena in Graz.

Schwarzenegger severed ties with the city, but returned last month for a low-key holiday.

Wild, crazy, canceled

Steve Martin surprised 75 guests gathered at his house for a “party” on Saturday – including Tom Hanks, Diane Keaton and Carl Reiner – by marrying writer Anne Stringfield in a ceremony presided over by former Nebraska Sen. Bob Kerrey.

But rapper Usher mysteriously called off his scheduled Saturday nuptials with his pregnant girlfriend, Tameka Foster.

Storybook beginnings

On the celebrity baby beat, Trista Sutter and her firefighter husband Ryan Sutter, who famously fell in love on ABC’s “The Bachelorette” in 2003, have welcomed their first child, Maxwell Alston Sutter.

And actress Jenna Elfman (“Dharma & Greg”) and her actor husband, Bodhi Elfman, are the proud parents of their initial offspring, also a boy, Story Elias.

Another new Mama

Kelly Osbourne will make her London stage debut as prison matron Mama Morton in a seven-week run of “Chicago” starting Sept. 10.

Osbourne, 22, who found fame on the reality show “The Osbournes” alongside parents Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne and brother Jack, has recorded several albums and hosted the British TV show “Project Catwalk.”

Death sentence for ‘Life’

Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton will stop living “The Simple Life” after this week.

The E! network says Sunday’s episode, which wraps up a season of “The Simple Life Goes to Camp,” will be the series finale.

Hilton served a little over three weeks behind bars for repeated probation violations in June, and last week Richie was sentenced to four days in jail on a DUI charge.
