Boys and Girls Club offer summer fun

There’s still time for kids entering sixth grade and up this fall to join in the summer fun with the Boys and Girls Club of Kootenai County.

The club is sponsoring its first afternoon summer session for boys and girls at Lakes Middle School, 930 N. 15th Ave., Coeur d’Alene. Activities run from noon to 4 p.m. weekdays. Registration for the entire nine-week program is $10 and includes lunches and all activities.

Kids will enjoy lots of outdoor activities and sports. And there will be opportunities for creative endeavors, from writing poetry to making collages.

“We help kids build social skills and learn self-expression in a safe, positive and controlled environment,” said Ryan Davis, executive director. “We also teach the importance of exercise and education. We want to help kids make good decisions.”

To learn more, call Davis at 661-9316 or stop by Lakes Middle School between and 4 p.m. Kids can also drop in for a day, hang out and take the registration forms home.
