Man charged with burglary

The Spokesman-Review

Spokane Valley Police arrested a 55-year-old Millwood man Wednesday after he burglarized an East Sharp office, then drove down the street and tried to sell suspected stolen power tools at another business.

What Daniel K. Fisher didn’t realize was that he was being chased on foot by an employee of the first business. When the employee arrived and confronted the suspect, the flustered burglar gave back the computer monitor he had stolen and fled the scene, said police spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan.

Luckily, all the employees involved got a good look at him and the license plate on his truck. Not long afterward, Officer Joe Bodman spotted the suspect and attempted to stop him.

The suspect tried to ditch his pickup in a residential driveway in the 400 block of North Vista, but was spotted and arrested. Witnesses from the two businesses he visited earlier identified him as the thief/tool salesman.

Fisher was booked into the Spokane County Jail on felony charges of second-degree burglary and attempting to elude a police vehicle. Investigation into his possession of the power tools continues.

Officers arrested a pair of drug suspects Monday night after they discovered marijuana in their possession during a traffic stop in the Greenacres neighborhood, Reagan said.

Spokane Valley Police officers Tim Jones and Cole Speer were patrolling the area of Appleway Boulevard and Barker Road when they saw the driver of a Mazda fail to signal a turn. They stopped the car and identified the occupants as driver Brady J. Black, 19, 15007 E. Second Ave., and passenger Trevor C. Green, 22, 20214 E. Eleventh Ave.

While speaking with the two, the officers could detect the strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Black had a drug pipe containing marijuana.

There also was a bag inside the Mazda that contained a larger quantity of marijuana, drug scales and several methadone tablets.

Green also possessed a small quantity of marijuana.

The officers learned that Black sells small quantities of marijuana for $5.

Jones issued Green a misdemeanor citation charging him with possession of marijuana and released him after he signed the ticket.

The officers drove Black to the Spokane County Jail and booked him on felony counts of possession of controlled substance (methadone) and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. A misdemeanor count of possession of marijuana is pending.
