How long can she carry the torch?
The wife of Velvet Revolver singer Scott Weiland was arrested for burning his clothes hours after the couple brawled at a luxury hotel, police said Monday.
Mary Weiland, 31, was booked for investigation of felony arson vandalism after officers responded to a call Saturday night and found a trash can at their Toluca Lake home full of smoldering clothes.
Officers called Weiland, who said the wardrobe was worth $10,000. The couple’s children, ages 4 and 6, were placed in the custody of family friends.
The arrest culminated a rowdy weekend for Weiland and his wife.
Police were called to the nearby Graciela Hotel earlier Saturday after the couple got into an argument that left two rooms vandalized.
“Both rooms had damage and items scattered, broken plates and things. It was looking definitely like items were deliberately destroyed,” a police spokesman said, adding: “She is a suspect in the vandalism. He is not.”

Double divorcees Eminem and Kim Mathers agreed Monday not to criticize each other publicly to protect their 11-year-old daughter.
Mathers blasted the superstar rapper in recent TV and radio interviews, including one in which she said he was unfaithful and uncaring – and disparaged his sexual prowess.
He then filed a court motion seeking to prevent her from making “derogatory, disparaging, inflammatory and otherwise negative comments” about him.

Busta Rhymes will face trial on two assault charges – for beating a former driver in a pay dispute, and a fan who spit on his car – after a judge withdrew a plea offer Monday.
The judge quashed the offer that included probation, community service and lectures to troubled youth, citing Rhymes’ recent arrest for driving with a suspended license.
And Tony Yayo, a rapper with top-selling hip-hop group G-Unit, has pleaded not guilty to harassment and endangering the welfare of a child after police accused him of slapping and hitting a 14-year-old boy.
Long live the … Sir Elton
Elton John celebrated his 60th birthday Sunday night with a show at New York City’s Madison Square Garden – his record-setting 60th performance there.
Guests included former President Bill Clinton, Whoopi Goldberg and Robin Williams, who said the tuxedoed John “used to make Liberace look Amish.”
Shades of meaning?
The Edge, guitarist for Irish supergroup U2, is donating his favorite 1975 Gibson Les Paul guitar to an auction benefiting Music Rising, a charity he co-founded to replace musical equipment lost in Hurricane Katrina.
“I wanted to give something really significant that would really mean a lot for me to give,” he says, “something that I would miss.”
Singer Bono, by the way, is chipping in a pair of Emporio Armani sunglasses.
