Makefive.com
The five funniest movies ever? According to new social network site Makefive, they are: “Dumb and Dumber,” “Airplane,” “The Big Lebowski,” “Spinal Tap” and “Office Space.”
Agree or not, one of the features of newly launched Makefive is creating a friends network where you find people who agree (or don’t) with your favorite lists of things.
Based in Vancouver, B. C., Makefive encourages users to connect with others through shared preferences or opinions.
Makefive is abuzz with listings and top choices. Readers may find similar listings all across the Web, but the founders of Makefive believe that building a site around the idea of lists and favorites will attract a loyal group of users.
Marvel Comics online
Comic book fans knew it was inevitable. Their pulpy comic books would one day have to move online.
That day came this week, when Marvel announced it will now release some of its favorite action superhero content in online editions.
The just-launched Digital Comics Unlimited site at marvel.com has both an archive of past issues and brand- new adventures from its catalog of titles.
While some free samples are there, the site will mostly offer pay-to-use content, requiring a credit card subscription. Marvel said it will add roughly 20 older issues to its archive each week. It will also provide users access to Marvel videos and action-figure TV shows. A Flash-enabled Web browser will be required to see those videos.
