Bruning Throws Hat In Ring For Dixie’s Open Seat …

John Bruning (pictured), the long-time chairman of the city’s P&Z commission, told Huckleberries moments ago that he has filed for the open Coeur d’Alene City Council seat now held by Dixie Reid. Former mayor candidate Joe Kunka and former P&Zer Suzie Snedaker have also announced for the seat. Bruning called his friend Snedaker earlier today to say he was filing. Also, he told HBO that he polled his four children yesterday about the possible race — and received their unabashed support. He has been a P&Z member since he was appointed by former Mayor Jim Fromm in 1982.
