Welcome to the West Plains Voice, a weekly neighborhood newspaper for the communities of Cheney, Medical Lake, Airway Heights and Fairchild Air Force Base.
Inside today’s edition you’ll find expanded coverage of West Plains schools, local government and neighborhood businesses with stories from staff writers, Eastern Washington University journalism students and correspondents who live in West Plains neighborhoods.
Spokesman-Review subscribers will get their West Plains Voice delivered to their homes every Thursday. It is also available free of charge on newsracks and in bright red newspaper boxes throughout the communities it serves.
Today is a big day at the Voices. In addition to launching the West Plains Voice, we’re debuting full color on every page of all seven Voices publications and expanding circulation by offering newspapers for free.
Previously, West Plains news was published in the South Side Voice, but because of continued growth of West Plains communities, the S-R is publishing this newspaper to expand its coverage of West Plains neighborhoods. West Plains Voice readers will still get news from the South Side, and readers can get news from Cheney to Sandpoint and neighborhoods in between online at www.spokesmanreview.com /voices and www.spokesmanreview.com/ handle.
Look for prep sports coverage, stories about Cool Kids and community happenings and features about the folks who make these communities great.
Readers can become reporters through our Citizen Journal initiative to tell neighbors about what’s going on down the street and across town.
