Marlins 10, Pirates 4: At Pittsburgh, Hanley Ramirez, Josh Willingham and Dan Uggla homered and Marlins pitcher Mark Hendrickson had two hits while pitching eight innings of Florida’s victory over the Pirates.

Cubs 7, Mets 1: At Chicago, Carlos Zambrano pitched seven strong innings, and Aramis Ramirez and Felix Pie homered as the Cubs beat New York. Zambrano allowed five hits and a run with two walks and four strikeouts.

Braves 7, Nationals 3: At Atlanta, Tim Hudson pitched six scoreless innings before tiring and drove in two runs, leading the Braves past Washington for Atlanta’s fifth straight win. Matt Chico lasted only four innings, giving up six runs and eight hits for the Nationals.

Dodgers 9, Reds 3: At Cincinnati, Nomar Garciaparra hit his first home run since Sept. 14 and drove in three runs and Los Angeles beat the Reds. Rafael Furcal also homered, and James Loney added three RBIs for the Dodgers.

Astros 10, Padres 3: At Houston, Miguel Tejada and Lance Berkman drove in three runs each to lead the Astros over San Diego. Roy Oswalt allowed three runs and six hits in seven innings for Houston.

Cardinals 4, Brewers 3: At Milwaukee, Skip Schumaker doubled in the go-ahead run in the ninth and St. Louis beat the Brewers. Cardinals’ starter Adam Wainwright and Brewers starter Carlos Villanueva each pitched brilliantly over seven innings and each allowed two runs in the third inning.

Phillies 9, Rockies 5: At Denver, Chase Utley homered for the fifth straight game, Jason Werth hit an inside-the-park home run and Philadelphia rallied for a win over Colorado.

Diamondbacks 4, Giants 0: At Phoenix, Eric Byrnes hit the go-ahead, two-run homer, and Micah Owings became the season’s third four-game winner when Arizona beat San Francisco. Mark Reynolds and Orlando Hudson hit solo home runs for the Diamondbacks.
