No shortage of political Web zingers

The Republican National Committee believes one way to target presumptive Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is to run very hard with the word “audacity.” Since Sen. Obama’s personal manifesto is called “The Audacity of Hope,” the RNC is working overtime to zing him by theming an entire Web site to the word.

So the RNC launched a new Web site called “Obama Audacity Watch.” at www.GOP.com/audacitywatch/ .

Anti-John McCain sites are also all over the Web. One very active blog attacking the presumptive Republican contender is Politicalbase.com.

U.S. voters using the Web for campaigns: A study from the Pew Internet and American Life Project finds 46 percent of all Americans (or 63 percent of Internet users) participate online in this year’s campaigns in some fashion. Here are some of the findings:

• 19 percent go online at least once weekly (6 percent go online daily) for campaign information or contacts.

• 23 percent receive campaign e-mails at least weekly.

• 10 percent discuss campaigns via e-mail at least weekly.

Electoral-Vote full of data: Serious campaign junkies will get a kick out of www.electoral-vote.com , which is data-rich and loaded with comments and summaries of just about every state and federal race.

Election on the Web is an occasional summary of online campaign resources.
