Cougars relay team wins in Nebraska
The Washington State men’s distance medley relay squad of Luke Lemenager, Kyle Schauble, Bob Hewitt-Gaffney and Chris Concha took first place at the Frank Sevigne Husker Invitational indoor track and field meet at the Bob Devaney Sports Center Saturday in Lincoln, Neb.
The Cougars finished in 10 minutes, 6.89 seconds.
Also faring well for the Cougars was La Shawnda Porter-Red, who took fifth place in the 200-meter dash in 24.63 seconds.
•Eastern Washington’s Curtis Suver broke a school record in the men’s 3,000 at the University of Washington Invitational in Seattle.
Suver finished 10th in 8:07.39. His previous best was 8:08.06, which he set last year.
Softball
North Idaho finished 1-2 on the day at the Great Western Shootout in Yuma, Ariz.
The Cardinals beat Gateway 13-6 before falling 10-2 to Pima and 11-0 to Phoenix College.
