“Five area students were named to the fall dean’s list from Carroll College in Helena. They are: John McKenna of Mead; Catherine Skaggs and Ryan Berg, Spokane; John Bass, Colbert; and Brenda Stephenson, St. Maries.

“Eastern Washington University awarded Presidential Scholarships to:

Yanek Kondryszyn of Liberty Lake received a $2,000 award. He is a student at Central Valley High School and is the son of Yanek and Lynn Kondryszyn of Liberty Lake.

Caitlin Sybouts of Spokane was awarded $2,000. She is the daughter of Michael and Cheryl Sybouts of Spokane and a student at Ferris High School.

Diane Stockton of Spokane was named to the fall dean’s list at Montana State University, Billings.

Amanda Haid and Michael McClain, both of Spokane, were named to the fall semester president’s list at Gonzaga University.

Sara Jackson of Spokane was named to the dean’s list for fall semester at Lycoming College in Williamsport, Pa.

Casey Bullen of Chattaroy was named to the fall quarter dean’s list at Central Oregon Community College in Bend, Ore.

Benjamin Page of Spokane was recently awarded an Academic Achievement Scholarship for the 2008-09 academic year from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa. He is a senior at Ferris High School and the son of David and Katherine Page of Spokane.

Hannah Allers and Valerie Schara, both of Spokane, were recognized for their academic excellence during fall semester at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn. Allers and Schara are graduates of Lewis and Clark High School.

Alysse Barrett Henkel of Spokane was named to the dean’s list for fall semester at Lafayette College in Easton, Pa.

Kennedy Kearney-Fischer of Spokane was named to the fall semester dean’s list at Tufts University in Medford/Somerville, Mass.

Rachel Bonertz of Spokane was named to the president’s list for fall semester at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C.

Amy Brandle of Spokane Valley was named to the University of Washington’s dean’s list for fall quarter.

Karina Walker of Spokane was named to the dean’s list for fall quarter at Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill.
