WSU women earn first Pac-10 win this season
Ebonee Coates scored 18 points on 7-of-9 shooting from the floor and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Washington State women earned their first conference win after beating Oregon State 56-52 in a Pac-10 game at Friel Court Friday night in Pullman.
Heather Molzen added 10 points and 10 rebounds for the Cougars (4-20, 1-12), who outscored the Beavers 37-29 in the second half to erase a four-point halftime deficit.
Oregon State (10-15, 3-11) was led by Ashley Allen, who scored a game-high 25 points.
•Natalie Orrell scored 18 points and Cassie Snyder added 13 as Whitworth beat Pacific Lutheran 71-62 in a Northwest Conference game at the Whitworth Fieldhouse.
Liz Horiatis and Tiffany Corigliano added 10 points each for the Pirates (12-10, 7-6), who outscored the Lutes 37-22 in the first half.
Trinity Gibbons had 14 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to lead Pacific Lutheran (11-11, 4-9).
•Laura McLellan had a career-high 14 points to lead Washington to a 61-60 Pacific-10 win over Oregon (10-15, 4-10) at Bank of America Arena in Seattle.
Sami Whitcomb scored 13 points and Andrea Plouffe and Jess McCormack added 10 apiece for the Huskies (10-15, 5-8).
Men
Kerry Williams scored 23 points and David Johnson and Lateef Williams added 14 apiece as North Idaho (16-9, 2-8) defeated Eastern Utah 88-72 in a Scenic West Athletic Conference game in Price, Utah.
Felix Caspari and Steve Goodell scored 12 points apiece to lead the Golden Eagles (13-12, 5-5).
