Parker leads No. 1 Lady Vols

Candace Parker scored 23 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, and the top-ranked Tennessee Lady Vols bounced back from an ugly home loss by beating No. 25 Vanderbilt 81-68 on Sunday at Nashville, Tenn., for their 15th straight victory in this instate series.

University High grad Angie Bjorklund added 15 points for Tennessee (23-2, 9-1 SEC).

Christina Wirth led Vanderbilt (19-7, 8-3) with 14 points.

(2) Connecticut 90, (18) Pittsburgh 64: At Pittsburgh, Renee Montgomery scored 17 points and the Huskies (24-1, 11-1 Big East) used an 18-2 run to end the first half to beat the Panthers (18-7, 8-3).

(3) North Carolina 97, Florida St. 77: At Chapel Hill, N.C., Erlana Larkins had 18 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and six steals to lead the Tar Heels (24-2, 11-0) to a win over the Seminoles (15-10, 5-5) to remain unbeaten in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

(4) Maryland 76, (12) Duke 69: At Durham, N.C., Crystal Langhorne had 25 points and 12 rebounds to help the Terrapins (27-2, 11-1 ACC) beat the Blue Devils (19-7, 8-3).

(7) LSU 78, Ole Miss 48: At Baton Rouge, La., Sylvia Fowles scored 19 of her 22 points in the first half to help the Tigers (22-3, 11-0 Southeastern Conference) beat the Rebels (10-14, 4-7).

(8) Baylor 79, (10) Oklahoma 59: At Waco, Texas, Rachel Allison and Angela Tisdale keyed an early spurt that put the Lady Bears (22-3, 10-2 Big 12) ahead to stay and they went on to a victory over the Sooners (18-5, 8-3) for their 16th straight victory at home.
