Deer Park state wrestling championship long overdue

Congratulations to the Deer Park Stags and their championship at the Washington State 2A Mat Classic.

Deer Park has maintained a legacy of incredibly talented wrestlers since the ‘60s. It was time for Deer Park to win a team title that had eluded it.

Individually, Deer Park wrestling has produced some greats: Wolfe, Daugherty, Rickey, Lauderdale, Berger and McLean, to name a few. These names will always be the backbone of a tradition of championship wrestling and incredible sportsmen.

As an alum, I have never been prouder to be a Stag.
