Some Madrid waiters are surly
Continuing with our recent trip to Spain and Italy (see below) …
No matter where you go out to eat, it’s probably best to consult a tour guide beforehand. The outdoor restaurant pictured below was set near an indoor tapa shop that our guidebook had recommended. But as it was our first full day in Madrid, and we were tired and hot, we preferred to eat outside.
So we opted for this place. And, to be honest, we had a good time … mostly because we were relaxed, the cold wine was tasty and we were in Madrid. That’s what I prefer to remember instead of the surly waiter, the crappy service, the high price and the many requests I had to make to get a check.
Funny how we had to go to Madrid to find the stereotype of a bad Parisian waiter.
Below:
I’d name this restaurant, but the truth is I wouldn’t want to give them any free publicity.
