Man killed in rollover near Deer Park

Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

A Deer Park man was killed just after midnight Monday when his pickup rolled.

Spokane County Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Dave Reagan said the Chevrolet missed a curve on Monroe Road, near Deer Park.

The driver, Jerry V. Scott, overcorrected and the pickup rolled. It was Scott’s 38th birthday, Reagan reported.

“He was ejected from the vehicle, and the truck rolled over him,” Reagan said.

Deputies found several alcoholic beverage containers in the truck, but investigators do not know whether Scott had consumed alcohol prior to the crash, Reagan said.

The accident remains under investigation.
