Fundraisers feature baked goods, crafts and more

It’s getting to be holiday bazaar season at Valley churches. The annual events are often important fundraisers for church programs while providing early Christmas shopping for craft lovers.

Spokane Valley Nazarene Church will put on a holiday craft and business fair next Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sale items will include antiques, handmade jewelry, salon products, lawn ornaments and more. Breakfast and lunch items will be available for purchase.

The event is a fundraiser for the church’s Mother of Preschoolers group. The church is at 20th Avenue and Sullivan Road.

Millwood Community Presbyterian Church will host its annual holiday bazaar today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be holiday decorations, quilts, baked goods and more. The sale is presented by the Priscilla Circle and the Handcrafters. The church is at 3223 N. Marguerite Road.

Harvest dinner

The 68th annual harvest dinner will be served next Saturday at the Veradale United Church of Christ. The longstanding tradition includes a menu of turkey, ham and Swedish meatballs. The meal will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. at the church, 611 N. Progress Road. Admission is by donation. The event is the church’s major fundraiser. Call the church at 926-7173 for more information.

New worship schedule

Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines Road, will begin a new worship schedule on Sunday. Services will now begin at 9 a.m. and 10:45 a.m., with youth and community groups meeting from 9:50 to 10:45 a.m. Children’s Sunday School will be offered during both services.
