4-H talent show to be held Saturday

The first annual Spokane 4-H Talent Showcase will be Saturday in the Phase 1 Auditorium at the Washington State University Riverpoint Campus, 668 N. Riverpoint Blvd.

The doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for a silent auction and the show begins at 7 p.m.

Performing arts and music groups that will be performing include RedWing, Holy Moly Jazz Band, Spokane International Dance Troupe, and The Turner Sisters.

Tickets are $15 and will include a beverage and dessert. Cost for enrolled 4-H members is $10.

Proceeds from the Showcase will benefit Spokane County’s Know Your Government project.

Gifts needed for children worldwide

Spokane volunteers are asking for the community’s help to make every child around the world have a merry Christmas.

Shoe boxes, filled with assorted gifts, are being collected for Operation Christmas Child, with the goal of 17,000 shoe boxes to send to suffering children worldwide.

Turkeybowl deadline is near

The deadline for the Spokane County Park’s fifth annual Turkeybowl Dodgeball Tournament is Tuesday.

The adult, six-on-six coed (four men and two women) Tournament is Nov. 26.

Boys & Girls Clubs hosting meal, tour

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Spokane County, 544 E. Providence Ave., will host its third annual Thanksgiving Family Night on Nov. 21, from 4 to 5 p.m. The dinner will be free to members of the Boys & Girls Clubs and their families.

A hot Thanksgiving meal will be provided, along with the chance to tour the facilities and meet the staff. Family Night gives families the opportunity to experience a real Thanksgiving without worrying about the cost.

Participants are welcome and encouraged to make donations of canned goods or financial support.
