Free Thanksgiving meals offered on or before holiday

Several Inland Northwest organizations offer free Thanksgiving meals for low-income residents on Thanksgiving Day or before. If you know of other meal sites, please contact Rebecca Nappi at rebeccan@spokesman.com or 459-5496.

•Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 E. Broadway Ave., Thanksgiving Day meal at 2 p.m. but reservations are required by Friday. Call 496-6242 or 927-9735.

•St. Ann Catholic Church, 2120 E. First Ave., 535-3031. Sunday, 1 p.m.

•Salvation Army, 222 E. Indiana Ave., 325-6821. Thanksgiving dinner items (to prepare your own meal) will be distributed on Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Please bring: Picture ID for all adults 18 and older, plus proof of children living in the household, such as medical coupons. Adults also need proof of current address, such as utility or phone bills.

•The Union Gospel Mission, 1224 E. Trent Ave., 535-8510. Thanksgiving program and turkey dinner will be Wednesday at 6 p.m. Doors open at 5:45 p.m. No reservations required.

•City Gate, 170 S. Madison St., 455-9670. Meal served Wednesday, 5 to 8 p.m. No reservations required.

•Central United Methodist Church, 518 W. Third Ave., 455-9019. Thanksgiving Day, 1 to 3 p.m. No reservations required. Dinner guests should enter through the back of the church. Wheelchair accessibility available.

•St. Aloysius Parish, 330 E. Boone Ave., 313-5896. Thanksgiving Day, noon to 2 p.m. Dinner will be served in the Globe Room of Cataldo Hall, across the courtyard from the church. No reservations required.

•Mid-City Concerns, 1222 W. Second Ave., Thanksgiving Day, 2 p.m. No reservations required.

•Lutheran Church of the Master, 4800 N. Ramsey Road, Coeur d’Alene. (208) 765-1002. Thanksgiving Day at noon. No reservations required.

•Lake City Senior Center, 1916 Lakewood Drive, Coeur d’Alene. (509) 226-3208. Sponsored by The Center for Spiritual Living, this Thanksgiving Day meal will take place from noon to 2 p.m. No reservations required.
