EWU’s Wulff suspended

Eastern Washington senior center Charlie Wulff has been suspended for the first half of the Eagle’s home game Saturday against Idaho State.

Big Sky Conference Commissioner Doug Fullerton announced the suspension Tuesday.

Wulff was ejected for throwing a punch in the fourth quarter of EWU’s 52-31 victory over Western Washington last Saturday at Woodward Stadium. NCAA rules require that a player ejected for fighting in the second half of a game be suspended for the first half of the next game.

Brosh finished third in the Montana State Invitational and Limpf won the men’s 8,000-meter race at the Sundodger Invitational in Seattle.

Cougars adjust November slate

A change in the format of the Legends Classic necessitated some November schedule changes for the Washington State men’s basketball team.

The Cougars will now open their season on Saturday, Nov. 15 against Mississippi Valley State in a game moved from Nov. 23. On Nov. 18, WSU hosts Fairleigh Dickinson, in its only Legends Classic first-round game, a change from the earlier schedule when two games were blocked out. To fill the date, WSU will host Canisius in a non-conference game Nov. 25.

The other November games – Sacramento State in Pullman on the 21st, and the Legends Classic semifinals, vs. Mississippi State on the 28th, and final round against either Texas Tech or Pittsburgh on the 29th – remain the same.
