Area high school students win EWU scholarships

Eastern Washington University recently awarded area high school seniors with a Presidential Scholarship for $2,000 for the 2009-’10 academic year. The scholarship was awarded to high school students with a cumulative high school grade-point average of 3.8 or higher or an SAT score of 1,250 or higher.
Jared Sol will graduate from East Valley High School and is the son of Dirk and Penny Sol of Newman Lake.
Jessica Steele will graduate from University High School and is the daughter of Rod and Char Steele of Spokane Valley.
Chelsea Gray is the daughter of Randy and Julie Gray of Mead and will graduate from Mt. Spokane High School.
Nicole Esmay will graduate from North Central High School and is the daughter of Ronald Esmay of Cheney and Linda Esmay of Spokane.
Jessica Ferry is the daughter of David and Sarah Ferry of Colbert and is homeschooled.
