Taxing the rich justified

The Spokesman-Review

Austin Allison says America has the best health coverage in the world. America does not. Fifty-two million people will not have health insurance in 2010. So what if we need to tax the rich? They can afford to share the burden. The low and middle class work hard for these people, and I believe they are obligated to shoulder this burden.

We have given tax breaks and bailouts to these people and when we talk about taxing them, people freak out like the world is ending. Guess what, it’s not.

If they are taxed more, they will still have the means to buy their houses, cars and boats and perhaps we can even provide health care to all Americans.

I love this country, but we are a greedy nation. All we want is money, cars and health, not for others but only for ourselves.
