Facility will offer plasma services

It’s a year away, but life, or rather BioLife, is planned for a new 16,000-square-foot building in Hayden. BioLife Plasma Services plans its new facility for 8270 N. Cornerstone Drive, across Highway 95 from Prairie Shopping Center.

The company pays donors for plasma, which is processed into products for people with plasma needs.

A division of Baxter Healthcare Corp., BioLife has 64 locations throughout the nation. Its headquarters is in Deerfield, Ill. The Hayden facility will have 60 beds and will employ about 80 people. It was recruited to North Idaho by the Jobs Plus organization.

State Labor Dept. plans PF building

Another new building about a year away will be a 16,000-square-foot facility for the Idaho Department of Labor. With about 40 employees, the new facility will be on 2.9 acres in Post Falls Business Park east of Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital near the Highway 41 interchange.

The move from leased space at 1221 W. Ironwood Drive in Coeur d’Alene will give the agency its own one-level building with more space for job fairs and workshops and increased parking. Other occupants in the Ironwood building, such as the Internal Revenue Service, will expand into the space the Department of Labor will leave.

ISP consolidates to Wilbur Avenue

Four different divisions of the Idaho State Patrol have consolidated into one location at 615 W. Wilbur Ave., just west of Highway 95. Eighty-six employees are in the new, one-level, 40,000-square-foot facility.

Moving from four different buildings on Prairie Avenue, the consolidation comprises investigations and forensics units, the peace officer standard training program and the 10-county Regional Communications Center. The Idaho Transportation Department is expanding into some of ISP’s vacated space.

Although phone numbers eventually will change, the old numbers remain operational – general information and nonemergencies at (208) 209-8620, investigations at (208) 209-8670, forensics at (208) 209-8700 and emergencies at (208) 209-8730.

NW Medical Transport to Ironwood

Now serving all of North Idaho and based out of Coeur d’Alene, Northwest Medical Transport has moved to 1250 Ironwood Drive. Originally in the Silver Valley and later on Sherman Avenue, the business moved with its growth.

The company provides door-to-door transportation services throughout North Idaho and to Spokane, primarily for clients who are covered by Medicaid Insurance. Owned by Charlie and Bekah Gay, the company has six full-time vans and two part-time vans. Raised in Spirit Lake, Charlie graduated from Lakeland High School and Gonzaga University. He also has Civil Designs, an engineering consulting business. Bekah was raised in Cataldo, graduated from Kellogg High School and has several years of business experience.
