Dinner to benefit Main Market Co-op

From Staff Reports

Feast Catering, Taste Café and Whitestone Winery are joining forces for a fundraising dinner for the Main Market Co-op on Dec. 13.

The menu will feature local ingredients that will be sold at the co-op, said Sylvia Wilson of Feast, who is making the salad, soup and entrée for the four-course dinner.

She’s planning sunchoke and Olsen Farms potato bisque with rosemary, served with Bouzies Bakery bread. The warm winter salad will include roasted Jackson Farm winter squash, arugula, Pioneer Stock Farm wheatberries, Quillisascut’s smoked farmer cheese and toasted pumpkin seeds with an apple cider vinaigrette.

The main course is Eaton’s Beef Brisket, braised with Cliffside Orchard apple-parsnip puree, winter greens and Quillisascut’s smoked curado-romano “gnocchi” and sage.

The dessert, from Taste Café and Gourmet-To-Go, is a hazelnut cream tart. Each course will be paired with a Whitestone wine.

The dinner will be held from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Taste Café, 180 S. Howard St.

Tickets are $75 each and must be purchased before Dec. 10 at www.brownpapertickets.com/ event/90359.

Main Market Co-op organizers say they hope to open by the end of the year. The store will be open to everyone, but members will get the first look at the new store. For more information, go to www.mainmarket.coop.
