Norway’s Skarpnord leads LPGA Q-school

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Norway’s Marianne Skarpnord shot a 2-under 70 on Sunday on the Champions Course at LPGA International to take a one-stroke lead over Nicole Jeray and Amanda Blumenherst after the fourth round of the LPGA Tour qualifying tournament. Skarpnord, who also had a 70 on Sunday in the rain-delayed third round, had a 6-under 282 total at LPGA International. Jeray and Blumenherst had 67s, also on the Champions Course — the site of the fifth and final round Monday. Lisa Meldrum (68) and Leah Wigger (72) were 4 under. The final top 20 will earn full privileges on the 2010 LPGA Tour. Those players finishing 21st through 40th will be earn partial privileges. The 23-year-old Skarpnord won the Deutsche Bank Ladies Open and Ladies Italian Open this year for her first Ladies European Tour titles.
