Adult family home loses license over alleged abuse

Alleged sexual abuse at a Spokane adult family home cost the center its license, a sanction that will go into effect next month unless it’s contested.

A provider at the Sadlo Adult Family Home, 10715 N. Middleton Drive, told Department of Social and Health Services investigators that he’d masturbated in front of a 25-year-old mentally disabled resident, according to a department investigation.

The woman moved out in December, and the man admitted the abuse to DSHS investigators Feb. 5, records show.

The home’s licensees, Andrea and Jan Sadlo have 28 days from the time of notification to appeal, according to DSHS.

A woman who answered the phone at the Sadlo residence hung up on a reporter seeking comment Friday.

Three men arrested on felony drug charges

Giorgiy Nart, 19, Joshua County, 20, and Eduard Chumov, 18, were booked into Spokane County Jail on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, said Spokane police Officer Teresa Fuller.

Detectives found a large quantity of cocaine in a home in the 1000 block of North Greenacres Road but refused to specify the amount.

They also seized money and three firearms, including an assault rifle, Fuller said.

One more person will face charges in the case, Fuller said.
