Bo Gregg made 7 of 10 field goals on his way to 20 points and also pulled down eight rebounds to lead the 19th-ranked Whitworth Pirates to an 82-51 Northwest Conference men’s basketball victory over the Pacific Boxers on Saturday night at the Whitworth Fieldhouse.

Calvin Jurich, who had a triple-double in Friday night’s victory over George Fox, followed up with 17 points and nine rebounds. Ross Nakamura had 16 points and 10 assists, and Nate Montgomery had 11 points for Whitworth (10-1, 2-0).

Garold Howe had 13 points and 11 rebounds to pace Pacific (5-5, 0-2). Micah Mooney and Todd Hinderman also reached double figures in points with 11 and 10, respectively.

Mooney’s field goal with 5:49 to play brought Pacific to within 56-47 but the Pirates ran off a 26-4 streak over the rest of the game to make it a rout.

Whitworth outrebounded the Boxers 43-38.

The Pirates have won five in a row and will travel to face Willamette on Friday night in Salem, Ore.
