RECORD: 10-4 overall, 1-0 WCC
COMING UP: Today vs. Santa Clara, 6 p.m.; Saturday vs. San Francisco, 5 p.m.
OUTLOOK: Gonzaga beat the Broncos three times last season, by four in the West Coast Conference tournament, by 34 in Spokane and by five in double overtime in Santa Clara, thanks to Brody Angley’s foul with 0.3 seconds left in Gonzaga’s backcourt. Steven Gray hit both free throws, forcing overtime. The Broncos lost last week on a last-second 3-pointer to Saint Mary’s and then blew a three-point lead in the last 90 seconds against San Diego. Santa Clara features 6-foot-11 center John Bryant, who has shed 30 pounds since last season, and eight newcomers, including four freshmen who play significant minutes.
