Oscar Contest: Accepting nominations for best film fan
Sun., Jan. 25, 2009
OK, movie fans, get set for another round of The Spokesman-Review’s annual Oscar contest. This year we’re running a ballot both in the newspaper (see below) and online.
At stake are the usual prizes: Overall winners receive $100 (second $50, third $25) in movie passes.
In case of a tie, the entrant who guesses the movie that wins the most awards (and comes closest to guessing how many awards that movie takes) earns the prize. If all fails, we’ll flip a coin.
Mail-in entries must be postmarked no later than Feb. 16. Send them to S-R Oscar Contest, The Spokesman-Review, 999 W. Riverside Ave., Spokane, WA 99201.
To enter online, go to www.spokesman.com/oscars and follow the instructions. Entries must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 16. Sorry, only one entry per person (in case of multiple entries, only the earliest submitted form will be counted).
ABC will broadcast the Oscars on Feb. 22.
Local journalism is essential.
Give directly to The Spokesman-Review's Northwest Passages community forums series -- which helps to offset the costs of several reporter and editor positions at the newspaper -- by using the easy options below. Gifts processed in this system are not tax deductible, but are predominately used to help meet the local financial requirements needed to receive national matching-grant funds.
