Oscar Contest: Accepting nominations for best film fan

OK, movie fans, get set for another round of The Spokesman-Review’s annual Oscar contest. This year we’re running a ballot both in the newspaper (see below) and online.

At stake are the usual prizes: Overall winners receive $100 (second $50, third $25) in movie passes.

In case of a tie, the entrant who guesses the movie that wins the most awards (and comes closest to guessing how many awards that movie takes) earns the prize. If all fails, we’ll flip a coin.

Mail-in entries must be postmarked no later than Feb. 16. Send them to S-R Oscar Contest, The Spokesman-Review, 999 W. Riverside Ave., Spokane, WA 99201.

To enter online, go to and follow the instructions. Entries must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Feb. 16. Sorry, only one entry per person (in case of multiple entries, only the earliest submitted form will be counted).

ABC will broadcast the Oscars on Feb. 22.
