FRISCO, Texas – Andre Rocha scored in the third minute of first-half stoppage time to help FC Dallas tie 1-1 with the Seattle Sounders on Saturday night.
Rocha redirected a long volley from Marcelo Saragosa on the left flank into the left corner of the net. Saragosa crossed a pass from about 35 yards away to Rocha, who took a sliding shot with his right foot from outside the right corner of the goalie’s box just before the whistle.
The Sounders (4-2-3) extended their unbeaten streak to four games while last-place Dallas (1-6-2) failed to score more than one goal for the seventh time in eight matches this season.
Brek Shea had a chance to score for FC Dallas in the 69th minute on a header, but Kasey Keller stopped it.
Seattle took a 1-0 lead in the 18th minute after Jhon Kennedy Hurtado beat Saragosa to a loose ball and then tapped in a shot from 12 yards away into an empty net for his first career MLS goal.
