Two more kids test positive for swine flu

Two children — one each from Spokane and Coeur d’Alene — are the latest to test positive for the H1N1 influenza virus, also called swine flu. The Coeur d’Alene child is a student at Ramsey Elementary School. The Panhandle Health District reported Monday afternoon that the child did not attend school while ill. The Coeur d’Alene School District sent letters home to parents of students at the school. Health officials say the student became infected while traveling out of state by car. The student has recovered from the contagious disease and did not require hospitalization. Health officials in Spokane reported a local student has tested positive for the H1N1 virus. It’s the fourth case in Spokane County. More details will be released this afternoon. There are 410 confirmed cases in the state of Washington.
