Crash on Highway 21 kills Malo man

The Spokesman-Review
A man died on Highway 21 in Ferry County on Friday night after another driver crossed the center line and struck his car. Arthur M. Voges, 49, of Malo, was declared dead at the scene of the crash at milepost 179.5 about five miles north of Malo. John H. Clifford, 66, of Malo, faces a vehicular homicide charge for the crash. State Patrol officers said Clifford’s 1993 Isuzu Rodeo crossed the center line about 9:20 p.m., hitting Voges’ car. Clifford, who was taken to Ferry County Public Hospital, was driving under the influence, according to WSP. Voges’ wife, Linda, 62, was also taken the hospital. She was a passenger in Voges’ 1999 Plymouth Neon. She was treated for cracked rib and released. A hospital employee refused to release Clifford’s condition.
