Lost hunter found in CdA National Forest
A 29-year-old hunter is recovering after spending a night lost in the Coeur d’Alene National Forest.
John King was reported missing late Saturday after he became separated from his hunting partner. Though he had a rifle and a GPS/radio unit with him, he didn’t have food, water or survival gear.
Search and Rescue units from Kootenai County and Shoshone County were joined by a helicopter from Fairchild Air Force Base in the search for King. Fairchild personnel said they found King on Sunday. He was taken to Kootenai Medical Center for observation and treatment of non-life threatening cold weather exposure.
